Go Green Announces Commitment to Sustainable Products

Dalton, Georgia, December 11, 2017 - Go Green Synthetic Lawn Solutions announces a major initiative to shift its manufacturing focus to more sustainable and environmentally friendly products.

This change began with the inception of including a soy-based backing system on their artificial grass landscape and golf products. Universal Textile Technologies, innovators of BioCel™ and pioneers using recycled and bio-based materials to produce state of the art technologies in the textile industry for over 20 years, provides Go Green products with an exceptional backing system that adds more value and a better choice for the consumer.

The BioCel™ system utilizes plant-based polyols derived from renewable natural oils to replace a large portion of the petroleum-based polymers normally used in the manufacturing process. The increased use of renewable resources for the artificial grass industry means Go Green directly contributes to the US economy by reducing the use of foreign fossil fuels and replacing them with polyols from soybeans, which directly supports our American soybean farmers.

“As the synthetic turf industry continues to grow as the needs expand, we want to look at our options closely and make the right decisions”, says Michelle Balicki, VP of Sales & Marketing for Go Green Synthetic Lawn Solutions. “Utilizing BioCel™ technology means we not only lower our carbon footprint, but we offer a better value to our customers as well.”

The added benefits of this system include better tuft bind, lower VOC’s, improved moisture barrier, enhanced performance and stability due to Celceram™ content (a highly refined & recycled mineral compound) and overall extended life of the turf.

Kim Gordon, Director of Operations for Go Green explained, “the benefits were compelling to us from a performance standpoint, but because we can offer a better system without an increased cost to the consumer, this was an easy choice for us.”

“Universal Textile Technologies is excited to be associated with the Go Green team, who is also recognized as an industry innovator and leader in technology and product development”, said Doug Giles, UTT’s Director of Marketing. Continued efforts by UTT to collect plastic bottles from Yellowstone National Parks that would normally end up in landfills, means Go Green can implement the use of these recycled material with our PET backing systems on products requiring a cushion backing for specialty applications.

As plant-based materials continue to climb to the top of the list for environmentally conscious consumers, it also rises to the top for procurement for commercial and government funded projects as well. Additionally, the USGBC had also addressed this through its LEED v.4 updates and initiatives to not only conserve water, but to source bio-based, sustainable products.

Go Green Climbs to the Top with E108 Rated Nylon Products

Dalton, Georgia, November 20, 2017 - Go Green Synthetic Lawn Solutions announces that their newly launched Platinum HeatMaxx®, Platinum HeatMaxx 65®, and Platinum HeatMaxx 90® have acquired the acclaimed ASTM E108 rating that applies only to rooftop applications and is one of the toughest tests to pass in the artificial grass industry. Offered in three pile heights, these products are expected to meet several demands in the synthetic turf industry that have been challenges in the past.

The Platinum HeatMaxx® series offers 3 different specifications for design variations. The stringent ASTM E108 test also requires the product to pass fire tests without adding the standard industry required infill. With a pile height of 1”, Platinum HeatMaxx is ideal for any roof deck areas exposed to full sun since it’s made of 100% nylon from its sister company LexLawn. Kim Gordon, Director of Operations over LexLawn and Go Green stated, “we recognized a gap in the industry for products that can tolerate extreme conditions. As a result, we’ve focused our R&D on our nylon technology.”

Studies report that nylon has been known to be about 25% more resilient than its typical competitors, polypropylene and polyethylene and has been the preferred material for carpet for years due to its unsurpassed performance. Nylon also offers the ability to withstand much higher temperatures than its counterparts allowing it to reach up to 460 F degrees before it reaches its melting point. Platinum HeatMaxx’s ability to withstand higher temperatures means it can go where typical artificial grass can’t go since poly products are not rated for rooftop use. It’s extreme durability and resiliency make it natural choice for landscape architects and designers who work with urban high-rise designs that feature roof deck areas.

“Due to decreasing space to build, especially in urban areas, commercial and residential properties are expanding up instead of out, so roof decks are a natural place for growth and has created the demand for this type of product” stated Michelle Balicki, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Roof deck expansions including pool areas, yoga decks, dog runs, or even putting greens, means Platinum HeatMaxx® can be used for a wide variety of applications and can solve an array of building and design challenges. Although its structural makeup is robust enough to hold up to the toughest commercial challenges, its exclusive blend of 4 colors makes it a beautiful choice for any high traffic residential backyard too.

Long awaited artificial turf solution for reflective burns is finally here!

Dalton, Georgia, November 2, 2017 - Go Green Synthetic Lawn Solutions has just announced the release of a new artificial grass product that provides a solution for an industry-wide issue with reflective burns caused by Low-E windows. With the introduction of the Platinum HeatMaxx® series, Go Green is the first and only manufacturer to offer a 15-year warranty, against reflective burns.

With the increase of these Low-E windows to create a better energy efficient solution for both residential and commercial applications, the synthetic turf industry has been challenged with reflective conditions that create very high temperatures. These reflective conditions have been reported around the world, to burn and melt surfaces such as aluminum siding on houses, paint on cars, and, among many others, artificial lawns.

David Davis, President of Go Green stated, “We have been working for years to perfect our proprietary blend of nylon yarns to combat the heat issues our industry has been challenged with.”

Most synthetic lawns made of polypropylene and polyethylene have melt temperatures around 320°F. Go Green’s Platinum HeatMaxx® series made with nylon, have a melting point of 460°F. Because of this, they are able to withstand the high temperatures that exist in these reflective environments.

“This has been quite a frustrating problem for our entire industry”, said Michelle Balicki, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “The finger has been pointed at the artificial turf manufacturer to mitigate an issue that has affected homeowners, architects, and commercial properties of all kind. But the truth is, this is clearly a much more wide-spread problem that expands much farther than our industry. We are just very excited to be able to provide a solution.”
